Pride of Britain Hotels is delighted to announce that The Vineyard Hotel and Spa in Stockcross, Berkshire, and Yorebridge House in Bainbridge, North Yorkshire, have joined its luxury collection of independently-owned UK hotels.

Located in the village of Stockcross, a 10-minute drive from Newbury train station, The Vineyard Hotel and Spa is a five-star hotel that is renowned for its impeccable service, 3 AA Rosette restaurant and award-winning 30,000-bottle wine cellar. The hotel’s 49 luxurious bedrooms and suites are named after iconic wines, the spa offers grape-themed treatments and guests can indulge in wine tastings and tours of the cellar.

The Vineyard’s restaurant, led by Executive Chef Robby Jenks, delivers dishes inspired by the freshest seasonal and local ingredients. As well as the impressive wine cellar, over 100 wines are available to taste and enjoy by the glass. Wine waiters are deeply knowledgeable, and Head Sommelier Romain Bourger and his team host a regular programme of events, including monthly wine masterclasses and wine dinners.

The hotel’s Judgement of Paris tasting menu is renowned. Each of the seven courses is paired with two wines (one French, one Californian) and, for a hint of blind-tasting drama, the two wines are served in black glasses.

The Vineyard spa, complete with hot tub, heated pool, steam room, sauna and garden, has a 5 Bubble rating (Good Spa Guide) and offers spa days, evening sessions and longer breaks. Signature treatments include those that harness the anti-oxidant properties of red grapes (Red Grape Pampering Body Wrap and Red Grape Blissful Back Treatment) as well as those championing Champagne, pearl, caviar and gold extracts (for example a Shimmering Gold Deluxe Facial).

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2018, The Vineyard Hotel and Spa has been privately owned by the Michael family since 1996 – the family also owns the highly-regarded Peter Michael Winery in California.

Andrew McKenzie, Managing Director of The Vineyard Group, said: “We are delighted and very proud to have been chosen to become part of Pride of Britain Hotels. We are joining a family of like-minded individuals, many of whom I have known for years, and all of whom share a common aim: to ensure our guests enjoy the best hospitality that Britain has to offer.”

An overnight stay at The Vineyard Hotel and Spa costs from £236* per room (two sharing), including full English breakfast and use of the spa. To book, call Pride of Britain Hotels on 0800 089 3929 (www.prideofbritainhotels.com)

Based in the heart of Wensleydale, in the beautiful North Yorkshire Dales, Yorebridge House is a five-star luxury boutique hotel and restaurant in the unspoilt village of Bainbridge.  The Victorian Grade-II listed property, once a Headmaster’s house and grammar school, have been immaculately renovated by Charlotte and David Reilly and sit in six acres of grounds, flanked by The River Ure and The River Bain.

Five minutes’ walk away, in the centre of Bainbridge Village, is the The Barn Room – a stunning two-storey Barn Conversion with private terrace and outdoor hot tub. All rooms have been designed with flair, with relaxing colour palettes combined with characterful oak beams, bay windows, vintage furniture, roll top baths and sumptuous bedding.

The award-winning restaurant holds 3 AA Rosettes. Menus are designed by Head Chef Dan Shotton and his team who are known for their inventive menus. Much of the produce is locally sourced and dishes may include Black fig, Yellison’s goats cheese and hazelnuts or Halibut with butternut squash and smoked eel. The hotel’s evening menu features many additional touches such as delicious canapés, amuse-bouches, pre-desserts and more. The hotel holds the AA’s Notable Wine List award for its bespoke collection of individual wines, which have been carefully selected from around the world.

Guests can relax in the contemporary lounge and bar areas with open fires, oak flooring, elegant chandeliers and stylish furnishings, or stroll to the picturesque villages of Askrigg and Bainbridge with their wonderful walking routes and famous local landmarks such as Aysgarth Falls, Bolton Castle and Semerwater Nature Reserve.
