The Look Book – from Boutique Retreats

Introducing a new website and revealing The Look Book…
bringing together style and escapism
Boutique Retreats – a collection of 75 extraordinarily sophisticated self-catering properties across Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Hampshire and the Cotswolds – has launched a freshly-designed website with ‘Look Books’ – pin boards of interior and exterior inspiration to captivate the design-conscious.
Divided into various search categories including ‘Sleeping’, ‘Living’ and ‘Bubbles’, discerning travellers can quickly find the luxurious look which most appeals to them. Choose from a Louis XIV-inspired boudoir, or an elegant white living room warmed by a wood-burner with sink-into sofas to sprawl on and jaw-dropping views to ogle at, or a Champagne-fuelled breakfast in a hot tub overlooking blissful countryside. Whatever sumptuous space and style you seek, the Look Books will inspire you.
Boutique Retreats sets itself apart from other self-catering companies in one significant way: it bridges the gap between boutique hotels and traditional holiday cottages. Booking through Boutique Retreats not only assures an extremely high standard of property, but also a very personal and knowledgeable service – a concierge, if you like, to arrange anything from a private dinner party with your own personal chef to deliveries of fresh, local produce.
From long weekends away to a two-week summer holiday, there are cute cottages for two, big houses sleeping up to 14, plus plenty of family-friendly options in between. The new website, now more user-friendly than ever, allows you to rapidly narrow your search based on preferences such as being within walking distance of a beach or pub, farmstays or a sea view. And, with over 40 dog-friendly properties, your hound(s) can enjoy the high life, too.

Set in 120 acres of stunning grounds with woods and rivers to explore, these sophisticated abodes are within easy reach of excellent restaurants (including Gidleigh Park, led by two Michelin Star Executive Head Chef Michael Caines MBE) and wonderful country and coastal walks.

Trevear Mill House (sleeps six), near Padstow, is a superbly refurbished, family-sized property set in 70 acres of undulating farmland. After an invigorating day’s surfing – or simply shell-seeking or rock-pooling – at one of the many blissful beaches nearby, sink into a soft leather sofa, be warmed by the wall-hung wood-burning stove and switch on the enormous TV (with full Sky package). Should you ever tire of the super-sleek kitchen with gadgets galore, Rick and Jack Stein’s culinary expertise awaits you in Padstow.
A three-night weekend stay costs from £174 pp (£1,043 total). One adult dog is welcome at each property (£30 extra).
Hampshire

You’ve a choice of excellent restaurants, cafés and shops on your doorstep in this historic old town. Evenings in can be spent curled up, with a compelling book and a glass of good wine, by the wood-burner.
