The Grove, Narberth is named Pride of Britain Hotel of the Year 2015

Our Stories

Pride of Britain Hotels, the consortium of 49 privately-owned independent British hotels and spas, is proud to announce that The Grove, Narberth in Pembrokeshire, Wales, has been named Pride of Britain Hotel of the Year 2015 due to its outstanding hospitality.

Grove MainHousewith Bluebells (2)

Set in 26 glorious acres, overlooking the Preseli Mountains and surrounded by wildflower meadows, The Grove, Narberth has been painstakingly restored by the current owners, making it one of the finest hotels in Wales.  There are 20 sumptuous guestrooms and four cottages, all with deep mattresses, top-notch bed linen, cast iron baths, Noble Isle bath goodies, underfloor heating and beautiful local artwork.

The stylish restaurant boasts three AA Rosettes and specialises in locally-sourced modern British cuisine.  Dishes are seasonal and may include Preseli Bluestone Lamb or Spiced Monkfish, duly complemented by an award-winning wine list (the hotel currently holds the AA Wine Award for Wales). Alfresco dining is possible on the terrace in summer months and a magnificent 17th century walled kitchen garden is stocked with over 70 varieties of fruit, vegetables and herbs.

New for 2015 are two-day Yoga Retreats (10-11 May and 6-7 September) and the hotel can also arrange indulgent in-room spa treatments such as a relaxing Indian Head Massage (£50 for 45 minutes) or a Deluxe Facial (£75 for 60 minutes).

Try some of the many walks from the hotel to local places of interest, including a deserted Welsh chapel, an ancient hilltop settlement and Canaston Woods.  The charming market town of Narberth has a tempting array of independent boutiques, bookshops, quirky cafés and a museum.  Pembrokeshire and its white-sand beaches are perfect for adventure seekers, with mountain biking, surfing, coasteering and horse-riding just some of the many activities on offer.

Lead-in price: A one-night stay at The Grove, Narberth in a Classic double room costs from £190 per room/£95 pp (two sharing) with a full Welsh breakfast included. Contact Pride of Britain Hotels (0800 089 3929, www.prideofbritainhotels.com) to book.

Ends – 14 April 2015
