Skiing solo this season?

Enjoy sociable snow time with Solos Holidays – from £629 pp half board, including flights

New itineraries added for 2016 in Austria, Canada & France

Whilst, in ski terms, very little comes close to the perfection of carving fresh snow tracks on a deserted mountain run, for most skiers and snowboarders it’s the company that makes a winter sports holiday memorable. Keen to hit the slopes this season but finding your enthusiasm isn’t shared by friends or family? Single travel specialist Solos Holidays offers an array of sociable ski trip solutions – including five NEW itineraries in Austria, Canada & France

NEW: Mayrhofen, Austria (resort height 630m):

A long-time favourite with British skiers and boarders, thanks to its vast, well-connected ski area that includes the Hintertux glacier, the picturesque resort of Mayrhofen also offers some of the liveliest après-ski in Europe. Enjoy sunny days on the Penken and Ahorn plateaux (both accessible from the village centre) or venture further afield – using the Zillertal Superskipass – to ski resorts such as Fügen, Kaltenbach and Zell am Zimmer.

Departing 17 January & 13 March 2016, the price is from £1,065 pp including flights (Gatwick) to Innsbruck, transfers, seven nights’ half board in a twin or double room for single occupancy at the family-run Hotel Neuhaus and the services of an accompanying Solos Tour Leader.

Solos on the slopes NEW: Westendorf, Austria (resort height 703m):

Once voted the most beautiful village in Europe, Westendorf’s Tyrolean charm and delightful setting in the Brixen valley make it a must for beginners and experienced snow sports enthusiasts alike. Westendorf is also renowned for the quality and value of its mountain-side restaurants, creating the perfect excuse (should one be needed!) to intersperse energetic bursts of activity with relaxing coffee stops and lingering lunches.

Departing 19 March 2016, the price is from £799 pp including flights (Gatwick) to Salzburg, transfers, seven nights’ half board in a single room at the three-star, family-run Hotel Theressiana and the services of an accompanying Solos Tour Leader.

NEW: Alpe d’Huez, France (resort height 1,860m):

Highly regarded by snow-sports enthusiasts for its miles of wide open, snow-sure slopes and over 300 days of sunshine a year, Alpe d’Huez also boasts breath-taking scenery and one of the longest black runs in the world, La Sarenne (16 km). There’s plenty of piste potential for beginners and intermediate skiers/boarders, too, as a well as a charming Old Town and great après-ski atmosphere to enjoy.

Departing 9 & 16 January 2016, the price is from £1,045 pp including flights (Gatwick, Manchester or Birmingham) to Grenoble, transfers, seven nights’ B&B in a single room at the three-star Chalet Hotel Escapade, six dinners, daily afternoon tea and the services of an accompanying Solos Tour Leader.

NEW: Tignes, France (resort height 2,100m):Val di Sole2

One of the largest ski areas in Europe (and linked to neighbouring Val d’Isère), Tigne’s high-altitude runs and impressive snow record rival the world’s best ski and board destinations. Ski virtually to the door of Solos’ featured accommodation – the three-star Hotel Hauts de Tovière – which also has easy access to the resort’s main lifts, the Pacquis and Chaudanne.

Departing 20 March 2016, the price is from £1,099 pp including flights (Gatwick or Manchester) to Lyon, transfers, seven nights’ B&B in a single room at the three-star Hotel Hauts de Tovière, dinner with wine on six evenings, daily afternoon tea and the services of an accompanying Solos Tour Leader.

NEW: Lake Louise, Canada (resort height 1,645m):

With a wonderful snowfall record and a dry climate that produces the area’s famous Rocky Mountain powder, Lake Louise is
hard to beat for skiers and boarders of all abilities. Join free guided tours with the resort’s ‘ski friends’ (local volunteers who will show you the best runs), perfect your parallel turns at the excellent ski school or take some time away from the slopes to enjoy husky sledding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.

Departing 15 March 2016, the price is from £2,275 pp including flights (Heathrow) to Calgary, transfers, nine nights’ B&B in a single room at the three-star Lake Louise Inn, welcome dinner on the first evening and the services of an accompanying Solos Tour Leader.

Solos’ full ski programme features Austria (Bad Hofgastein, Mayrhofen & Westendorf), Bulgaria (Bansko), Canada (Lake Louise), France (Alpe d’Huez & Tignes), Italy (Folgaria, Madonna di Campiglio, Santa Caterina & Val di Sole) and Switzerland (Adelboden & Les Diablerets). As with all Solos holidays, each ski trip has been carefully created with the needs of the independent-spirited single traveller in mind. Solos appreciates that everyone is different and that, whilst some clients enjoy doing everything as a group, there will be others who prefer to go it alone on the slopes… with most appreciating the chance to do a bit of both. Each holiday is accompanied by a Solos Tour Leader to assist and advise but, equally, to melt away as required!

Prices for a Solos ski holiday start from £629 pp for a seven-night stay during January at Val di Sole in Italy’s Brenta Dolomites including BA flights (Gatwick) to Verona, transfers, B&B in a single room at the three-star, family-run Hotel Dolomiti, dinner each evening and the services of an accompanying Solos Tour Leader.
