Seaham Hall, the luxury five-star hotel on Durham’s Heritage Coast, has launched a new series of seasonal Sunday sessions to bring a fun, festival atmosphere to the hotel’s sweeping terrace.

Outdoor events will take place from July to September at this impressive Georgian country house, which sits in a striking clifftop position, just steps from the beach.

With its glorious 37-acre grounds providing the perfect setting for alfresco afternoons of delicious food and live music, let Seaham Hall be your soundtrack to summer…

This summer, Seaham Hall will screen some of the nation’s favourite classic movies under the stars. The first outdoor cinema night of the summer sees The Greatest Showman take over the big screen (alfresco, of course). Recline in the comfort of your deckchair to watch this popular musical. A selection of snacks, from homemade popcorn and fizz to posh hot dogs will be served. Classic Movie Night – The Greatest Showman (10 July) costs £30 pp.

Celebrate the end of term with an atmospheric, fun-filled Mexican Fiesta. The outdoor terrace will be transformed for this South American sensation with colourful, Mexican-themed décor. Don your finest sombrero and join the lively party to enjoy Mexican tipples and treats – expect Tequila, margaritas, burritos and music from live Mariachi band Los Capitanes. School’s Out: Mexican Fiesta (24 July) costs £45 pp.

Gather the girls for an alfresco afternoon tea on the terrace. Indulge in a selection of delicious light bites, carefully prepared to include sweet and savoury treats, Prosecco and free-flowing tea and coffee. Catch up with your girlfriends while soaking up the sounds of live acoustic music from saxophonist, Ali Adair. Tea on the Terrace: Ladies Who Lunch (14 August) costs £45 pp.

The second instalment of films alfresco will take viewers back to the summer of 1987 with cult classic Dirty Dancing. The ever-popular romantic dance musical starring Patrick Swayze, Jennifer Grey and Jerry Orbach is as well known for its choreographed scenes as its iconic soundtrack, with songs by The Ronettes, The Contours and Otis Redding. Sing along to The Time of My Life which won the Oscar for Best Original Song in 1988, before refuelling with homemade popcorn, fizz and posh hot dogs. Classic Movie Night – Dirty Dancing (28 August) costs £30 pp.

Asia is known for its incredible street food, a melting pot of bright colours, tantalising smells, and rich, spicy flavours. The authentic way to enjoy the finest flavours from the Far East is, of course, outdoors and Seaham Hall’s terrace takes street food festival vibes to the next level with a range of food stalls and live music from The Disco & Co playing the best summer anthems. From Thailand to China and Japan, enjoy delicious Asian dishes from the orient at this festival which is not to be missed! Asian Street Food Festival (4 September) costs £45 pp.
