Seaham Hall selected as Business Tourism finalist for the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence

Based on the Durham heritage coastline, five-star boutique hotel Seaham Hall‎ is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted in the Business Tourism category for this year’s VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.

Seaham Hall, a Georgian manor house, offers contemporary and luxurious interior design, blending the old with the new and eclectic. With a £3M refurbishment programme complete, and new suites coming online in the next few months, the hotel will shortly feature 22 individually-designed suites, two restaurants and a stunning 44,000 sq ft spa, together with over 1,000 sq ft of event space, all with natural daylight and wonderful views across the 37 acres of grounds and coastline.

Seaham Hall’s corporate spaces include The Vortex – a new state-of-the-art, multi-use zone to inspire creative thinking amongst corporate clients. Accommodating up to 40 guests, it can easily be transformed from a more typical meeting room to an unusual and inspirational space with bean bags, games and puzzles, and the latest technical equipment. The Vortex’s unique design concept, including coastal-influenced illustrations of giant jellyfish on the walls, is conducive to free-flowing communication between colleagues and clients.

The intimate Annabella Room, with capacity for up to 20 people, is ideal for smaller meetings, presentations and private dining. The Courtyard, a two-storey atrium with a vaulted glass ceiling and marble floors, hosts a variety of events including arrival drinks and breakout buffet lunches. Finally, the elegant Ballroom offers the largest space (up to 120 people) and leads out onto a south-facing terrace. Seaham Hall is also available for exclusive use (from £25,000).

New value-added spa options, especially for overnight business visitors, are just launching. These include complimentary post-meeting 15-minute neck massages (subject to availability) and a stress-busting private (pre-bookable) 30-minute stretch class in the studio (again, on a complimentary basis). Female executives may prefer to book a complimentary detox juice along with an express facial.

Through strong partnerships with two local companies – Valley Adventures and Karting North East – Seaham Hall also offers, within its own grounds or nearby, an exciting array of team-building activities for corporate groups. These include falconry, treasure hunts, bush craft, cookery classes, archery, paddle-boarding, surfing, coastal discovery days, orienteering, circus skills, military-style assault courses, raft building, karting, paintball, rage rally, archery, tomahawks and off-road 4×4 driving.

CORPORATE PACKAGES: The Day Delegate Rate for The Vortex starts from £55 pp, which includes use of the main meeting room, refreshments on arrival and mid-morning, two-course lunch or working buffet lunch, afternoon tea, AV equipment, complimentary parking and WIFI. The Residential Delegate Rate starts from £225 pp, which includes all of the above plus an overnight stay in a Junior Suite, a three-course dinner, full English breakfast and use of the 44,000 sq ft Serenity Spa, complete with 20m pool, outdoor hot tubs and a huge range of treatment and massage options – plus those tempting complimentary business visitor extras detailed above.

Says Ross Grieve, Managing Director of Seaham Hall:  “Our team strives for excellence no matter whether the guest is a business or a leisure visitor, but it’s particularly satisfying for us to know that Seaham Hall is seen as a leader in the demanding field of Business Tourism in the influential VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2016.

“We strive always to innovate, and recognise that business visitors need to relax after a hard day’s meeting; our luxurious and very spacious spa is our secret weapon in this respect.  Delegates can unwind in the many outdoor hot tubs (glass of champagne optional) or in the relaxing warmth of our hydrotherapy pools, swim a few lengths of our excellent 20m pool, soothe their muscles in the sauna/steam rooms, enjoy a private stretch class with their colleagues and pre-book a wide range of massages and treatments in addition to the complimentary treats on offer, all designed to clear brains and deliver de-stressed and reinvigorated executives back to their employer pre dinner.”

The VisitEngland Awards for Excellence will be announced at a ceremony taking place at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool on Tuesday 8th March.
