Travel PR is delighted to announce that it is now representing SamBoat, a world leader in peer-to-peer boat rentals and yacht charters. SamBoat boasts 40,000 rental boats worldwide, with its main destinations being the thousands of miles of coastal Europe (summer season) and the Caribbean islands (winter season).

Founded in France in 2014, the Bordeaux-based company aims to make boating accessible to everyone – not just the fortunate 1%! – by offering a flexible and easy-to-use web-based service. With a wide range of vessels available for hire – including motorboats, sailboats, catamarans, houseboats and yachts – the platform caters for everyone, from families enjoying a sun-soaked week-long holiday in the Med or groups of friends living the high life on an indulgent day at sea, to experienced sailors setting their own itinerary, perhaps exploring hidden islands. Customers can choose to be skippered professionally or to be their own captain (subject to the correct licence and experience). A simple booking request for a boat on the chosen date/s is all that’s required of renters. Once the booking is approved by the owner, payment is made securely via the SamBoat website. Owners are required to have appropriate insurance for renting boats out for hire, and renters are encouraged to have their own travel insurance that includes boat hire cover. A security deposit is taken in case of damage, loss or theft of the boat if it is being rented without crew. The cancellation terms are at the discretion of individual owners but the exact terms are made clear on each boat listing page so customers are advised to check this thoroughly before booking. SamBoat also offers Covid Cancellation insurance at a cost of 4% of the total booking (minimum €20) so that if the renter or anyone in their party gets Covid and the hire must be cancelled, they will receive a full refund.
