Whatley Manor Hotel and Spa joins Pride of Britain Hotels

Pride of Britain Hotels is delighted to announce that Whatley Manor Hotel and Spa in Wiltshire has joined its collection of luxury, independently-owned UK hotels.

Set in pretty countryside near Malmesbury in Wiltshire, Whatley Manor Hotel & Spa is an elegant 19th century Grade II-listed Cotswold manor house hotel and holds 5 AA Red Stars.

The property houses 15 bedrooms and eight suites which are all individual in style, featuring contemporary and antique furniture, Bang & Olufsen technology and L’Occitane amenities.

The hotel has recently appointed Niall Keating as Executive Chef of its two restaurants – The Dining Room, which serves dinner from Wednesday to Sunday, and Grey’s Brasserie which serves lunch and dinner daily. There are also two bars, perfect for an aperitif, and three lounges where afternoon tea and drinks are served.

The superbly-equipped and luxurious Aquarias Spa includes a hydrotherapy pool which extends outdoors, a tepidarium with heated stone recliners, salt scrub showers, a thermal suite with a caldarium, steam grotto, laconium (dry heat room) and sauna. There’s also a VIP treatment suite for two with its own hydro bath, as well as a gym and studio.  The spa features ila’s ‘beyond organic’ treatments and is the first hotel in the UK to have a permanent Natura Bissé Pure Air Bubble Suite where treatments such as Natura Bissé’s Aquarias Diamond Ritual (£150 for 90 minutes and exclusive to the hotel) take place.

Whatley Manor’s pretty gardens span 12 acres and feature both woodland and pretty herbaceous borders. Many parts of the garden are based on the original 1920s plans, which divided the gardens into 26 distinct areas. More recent additions include walking and jogging routes (maps are available at reception) and bicycles that can be hired so guests can explore the local countryside.

The hotel also boasts a 40-seat private cinema.  Guests can either borrow a film from the hotel’s extensive DVD library or bring their favourite with them.  Couples can hire the cinema exclusively – with freshly-made popcorn included – for just £40. The hotel can arrange many active pursuits in the surrounding area such as horse-riding, clay pigeon shooting, golf, go-karting and hot air balloon rides.  Whilst the hotel is largely aimed at adults, children aged 12 and above are welcome. The hotel is also dog-friendly with prices from £30 per dog per night including a welcome pack for your dog.

An overnight stay at Whatley Manor Hotel and Spa costs from £325 per room (two sharing), including full English breakfast and use of the Aquarias Spa. Call Pride of Britain Hotels on 0800 089 3929 (www.prideofbritainhotels.com) to book.
