As the proud headline sponsors of this year’s ‘Bring your Dog to Work Day’ (Friday 26 June), Canine Cottages is celebrating the joyful contribution furry friends have made during lockdown with some holiday inspiration for the rest of the year.

Featuring holiday properties in some of the UK’s most beautiful locations, Canine Cottages is the go-to brand for pup-parents wishing to take their beloved hound on holiday. Sleeping between two and 42 people, and up to five dogs, each property has been handpicked with four-legged friends in mind.

Founded in 2014 by HOWND (multi-award-winning manufacturer of ethical health, wellness and hygiene products for dogs), the 7th annual Bring Your Dog To Work Day will be raising money for animal welfare charities that include the Bring Your Dog To Work Day official charities – All Dogs Matter and Animals Asia.  Find out more about the day and how you can get involved here.

Perthshire: On-site grooming service & doggy day care

Willow Cottage (sleeps six, plus two dogs) offers spacious accommodation, modern interiors finished to a luxury standard and a pretty, peaceful setting. The property features lots of puppy facilities, including a grooming service on site – anything from a full groom to bathing or nail trimming – plus a day-care dog service at the owner’s kennels, allowing guests the flexibility to visit local attractions which may not be suitable for dogs, and a welcome gift for all canine guests on arrival (bowls, poo bags and dog treats). The humans will love the open-plan living area, three bedrooms with wonderful countryside views and the inviting Jacuzzi bath. The working farm setting, surrounded by acres of open countryside, is perfect for leisurely dog walks, too. A seven-night stay costs from £135 pp (£810 total). £20 supplement per dog. Current availability from July through to December.

Aberdeenshire: Dog welcome basket & up to five dogs…

Wetherhill Paws (sleeps six, plus up to five dogs) is a wonderful traditional detached cottage in a beautiful rural location. Enjoy magnificent mountain and rolling hill countryside views from the property, which is close to the splendid Cairngorms National Park – ideal for long dog walks and an array of other outdoor pursuits. The property welcomes up to five canine companions, with a dog welcome basket given on arrival – and its owners guarantee that “right at home” feeling as soon as everyone arrives. Wetherhill is a single-storey property with a charming feel, yet with plenty of space for the dogs (and kids!) to play happily and safely. A seven-night stay costs from £101 pp (£607 total). £20 supplement per dog. Current availability from July through to December.

Cotswolds: Pawsecco & welcome hamper treats

Clearbrook Barn (sleeps two, plus three dogs) is a lovely, romantic retreat, set in a charming village. For the humans, there’s an inviting hot tub and unique BBQ hut, while puppy pals will love the welcome treats with their own pawsecco, alongside exploring the three acres of gardens and nearby country lanes. The barn conversion has an open-plan lounge/kitchen and, upstairs, you’ll find a fantastic four-poster bed. Step outside and enjoy a plethora of activities, from fishing to croquet – or why not head a little further afield to grab a pint or bite to eat at the dog-friendly Bull and Butcher pub? A seven-night stay costs from £275 pp (£550 total). £20 supplement per dog. Current availability from August through to December.

North Yorkshire: Dog house with chaise longue for your pup

Roseberry View (sleeps eight, plus three dogs) is a splendid barn conversion in a peaceful location within a few miles of the glorious North York Moors, featuring a sauna, hot tub, pool table and fantastic rural views across the countryside to Roseberry Topping hill.  The property is surrounded by open fields and shares 27 acres of grounds with the owner’s farmhouse. For the humans in your group, there’s a private hot tub and sauna, while the pooches can enjoy a dedicated ‘dog house’ area, with its own chaise longue, as well as doggies treats on arrival… and the chance to make friends/share sniffs with the resident dogs, Archie and Jenson. A seven-night stay costs from £163 pp (£1,306 total). £20 supplement per dog. Current availability from October through to December.

Lake District: Dog room area and welcome treats

Barrow Hollin (sleeps six, plus 2 dogs) is a stunning cottage, packed full of rustic features and charm. With an unbeatable location, there are several walks that will keep tails wagging every day. For furry friends, there’s a dog room, with crate area and accessories for cleaning muddy paws, and some yummy treats on arrival, while the two-legged members of the group will enjoy the warming wood burner in the lounge and playing one or two rounds of snooker in the games room. Outside, there’s a perfect playground for energetic pups, with plenty of trails right from the doorstep or, heading slightly further afield, Lake Windermere and Grange-over-Sands are just five miles away. A seven-night stay costs from £188 pp (£1,128 total). £20 supplement per dog. Current availability from September through to December.
