Park House Hotel & Spa in Sussex joins Pride of Britain Hotels

Pride of Britain Hotels is delighted to announce that Park House, Hotel & Spa, a multi-award-winning country house hotel near the historic market town of Midhurst, is joining its collection of independently-owned luxury UK hotels.
Set in ten glorious acres in the West Sussex village of Bepton, in the heart of the South Downs National Park, Park House is renowned for its exemplary service and welcoming ‘home from home’ atmosphere. Opened to guests by Ioné and Michael O’Brien in the late 1940s, the hotel has been family-run for four generations and comprises a spa and fine-dining restaurant, two grass tennis courts, a six-hole, 18-tee golf course and a croquet lawn.
The 21 individually-designed bedrooms are spread between the main house and threeadjacent cottages – South Down, Baytree and Polo. Little Oaks, a six-bedroom luxury house a mile down the road, is also available for exclusive use and guests have access to all of the hotel’s facilities. Rooms feature luxurious cotton bedlinen, organic VOYA beauty products and freshly-baked biscuits, and nearly all have stunning views of the surrounding countryside or South Downs.
Set apart from the main hotel, the spa at Park House is a relaxing haven which holds a prestigious five-bubble rating from the Good Spa Guide. Facilities include a 15-metre indoor swimming pool with marble entry shower, outdoor heated pool with sun terrace (May to September), Jacuzzi, saunas and steam rooms, gym and fitness studio, four treatment rooms and a Treatment Menu offering the likes of restorative facials, scalp massages and manicures.
Park House’s Dining Room is inspired by Sussex’s bountiful local larder. The Head Chef and his dedicated team are passionate about working with local producers, using fresh, seasonal ingredients to produce mouth-watering British menus. Sample dishes include Turbot, lobster raviolo with carrot & courgette ribbons, shellfish bisque; Beetroot & lemon risotto, goat’s cheese with watercress and Strawberry & white chocolate trifle. Menus are priced from £25 pp for a three-course lunch or full afternoon tea and £45 pp for a three-course dinner. There is also an all-day menu featuring salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta dishes and sharing platters. The wine list is extensive and features Nyetimber’s Classic Cuvée Multi-Vintage, produced just 20 miles from the hotel.
Guests can make full use of the two championship-standard grass tennis courts (May-September only), six-hole, 18-tee golf course, putting green, bowling and croquet lawns. There is also a helipad situated within the grounds.
The Barn, a beautifully-renovated traditional Sussex building – is ideal for intimate family weddings, private parties and business meetings.
Park House is ideally situated for many of the South of England’s key attractions, be it polo at Cowdray Park, horseracing and motorsport events at Goodwood, top-notch theatre and shopping in Chichester or the sandy beaches of West Wittering.
Mark Yates, General Manager, says: “We are delighted that Park House has been accepted into Pride of Britain Hotels’ prestigious hotel collection, as it has been an ambition of our owner for a number of years now.”
Peter Hancock, Chief Executive, Pride of Britain Hotels, says; “ We’re thrilled to welcome Park House into the collection, bringing us even closer to our self-imposed limit of 50 hotels. It is a genuine example of a family-owned property that is loved by its many discerning guests.”
