News for 2019 from Pride of Britain Hotels

A new spa, culinary masterclasses… and a whimsical adventure playground. Here is the latest news from Pride of Britain Hotels for 2019.
A new spa at South Lodge in West Sussex
Opening in March 2019, the new spa at South Lodge will feature an indoor infinity edge pool, a natural outdoor lightly-heated swimming pond, an infused sauna plus marble-lined salt and aromatic steam rooms. Spread across an impressive 44,000 square feet, other facilities include a fitness suite, a nail bar and pedicure suite, a male grooming area and 14 nature-inspired treatment rooms. Set into the natural contours of the land, the spa is designed with sustainability in mind and features a grass roof. Guests can admire the beautiful surrounding landscape from a new spa restaurant, Botanica, complete with an alfresco dining terrace. Stay overnight from £225 per night total / £113 pp (two sharing), including full use of the new spa and breakfast.
Boaty McBoatface adventures at The Fish Hotel in the Cotswolds
Nestled into a hillside with stunning views over the Cotswolds, Boaty McBoatface is the newest hideaway hut at The Fish Hotel on the Farncombe Estate. Unlike the hotel’s other quirky accommodation, Boaty McBoatface provides guests with a paddleboat to embark on their own nautical adventure across a serene lake, to reach an intimate private island. The hut features underfloor heating, a roll-top bath and an outdoor bath, making it perfect for a romantic getaway all year round. Stay overnight from £320 per night total / £160 pp (two sharing), including breakfast.
Experience London at its finest at The Goring
The Goring is perfectly located for access to London’s premier attractions, including Buckingham Palace, Westminster Cathedral and the exclusive boutiques of Knightsbridge and Sloane Street. Visit the Tate Britain’s new Van Gogh and Britain exhibition (27 March – 11 August 2019) for a fascinating insight into the artist’s inspiration, or be one of the first to see Waitress, the Broadway smash hit opening at the Adelphi Theatre in February 2019, featuring original music by six-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles. Stay overnight from £410 per night total / £205 pp (two sharing), room only.
Kitchen gardens, a whimsical adventure playground and a food festival at Rockliffe Hall, County Durham
From Spring 2019, guests can venture into Rockliffe Hall’s walled kitchen gardens to discover some of the delightful produce that each of the hotel’s three executive chefs use in their creations. The gardens are part of the recently-opened Mischmasch, a whimsical adventure playground inspired by children’s author Lewis Carol, who grew up in nearby Croft-on-Tees. An Alice in Wonderland eco-playground features apparatus for all ages, Curious Cabins offer soft play, a pool room pod and a cinema room, while wild flower nature trails and a fascinating bird hide provide the chance to become enveloped in nature.
Celebrating the best of British cuisine, Rockliffe Hall’s first ever Festival of Food (2-9 February 2019) will welcome some of the country’s best professional chefs for a series of special lunches, dinners and food and wine events. Chefs Andrew Pern, Mark Greenaway, James Mackenzie and Mark Jordan will join Rockliffe’s three executive chefs, Richard Allen, Aaron Craig and Paul O’Hara, for events including a Taste of the North East banquet and a ‘call my bluff’ wine evening. The festival will conclude with a glittering black-tie gala dinner. Stay overnight from £220 per night total / £110 pp (two sharing), including access to the spa, Mischmasch Gardens and breakfast. Festival of Food events are priced individually.
Culinary masterclasses at The Swan at Lavenham Hotel and Spa, Suffolk
Throughout 2019, Justin Kett, the award-winning Head Chef at The Swan at Lavenham, will share his culinary expertise at a series of masterclasses (£39.95 pp). Each class will begin with a foodie discussion over coffee and biscuits, followed by a cooking demonstration, featuring sample tastings and recipes to take home. The inspiring sessions will culminate in a two-course lunch, paired with a glass of wine and tea or coffee. Kicking off with a Stress-free Dinner Parties masterclass (28 February), other themes include Europe’s Finest Dishes (28 March), a celebration of Suffolk’s local produce (27 June), Autumn Spice masterclass (26 September), Tips and tricks for cooking game (31 October) and advice for Taking the stress out of Christmas (28 November). Stay overnight from £185 per night total / £93 pp (two sharing) including breakfast.
