Naturetrek launches first-ever Tailormade brochure

Our Stories

New stand-alone programme features bespoke wildlife and cultural holiday options crafted by experts

Wildlife specialist Naturetrek has launched its debut Tailormade brochure, brimming with detailed information on its favourite, hand-picked wildlife destinations and focusing on Africa, the Americas and Asia. The brochure’s aim is to provide unique and exciting private wildlife holidays to suit individual requirements and expectations.

Says Robin Smith, Naturetrek’s Tailormade Programme Manager: “Our new Tailormade programme allows clients to choose their own accommodation, departure date and duration, and to combine wildlife itineraries with the cultural highlights of their chosen destination. For decades, the Naturetrek team has travelled the globe in search of the very best wildlife experiences and it seemed a logical step to showcase some of the endless possibilities in a brochure.

“Our exciting new programme includes detailed descriptions of our favourite wildlife locations and a range of sample itineraries that are designed to provide a starting point from which to plan a tailormade holiday. Prices are not quoted in the brochure because so many different trip permutations are possible. Each enquiry is treated with a personal touch, with various options carefully discussed, ultimately providing a unique holiday itinerary and a totally personalised quotation. The response so far has been fantastic!”

Tried and tested sample itineraries

The brochure features carefully crafted and tested sample itineraries that are designed to offer a flavour of the kind of holidays offered, but these are not exhaustive. While the brochure focuses on Africa, the Americas and Asia, bespoke trips to other destinations across the globe are also possible. A wildlife calendar (pages 4-5) helps clients decide where to go and when to see the most exciting wildlife spectacles around the world.

Africa

Ethiopia’s Essential Wildlife: A rewarding 11-day itinerary that uncovers the diverse wildlife highlights of Ethiopia. The wonderfully-remote Bale Mountains, home to the captivating Ethiopian Wolf, and the freshwater Lake Awassa, which attracts all manner of water birds, are included. Addis Ababa tops and tails the trip, and its cultural sites and day-trip possibilities are not overlooked.

Zambia Walking Safari: A thrilling 13-day itinerary that spends eight nights in the magnificent South Luangwa National Park, home of the African walking safari. Track and watch wildlife on foot, staying in four exclusive bush camps situated at intervals along the Luwi Valley. Luggage is transferred between camps while you walk.

Americas

Brazil – A Jaguar Odyssey: A carefully-devised 14-day itinerary that offers the very best opportunity to see South America’s most iconic mammal. Departures from June to October are recommended for the best chance of sightings and the trip encompasses the northern and central Pantanal, the Jaguar Flotel (a floating hotel that specialises in Jaguar sightings) and the awe-inspiring Iguazu Falls.

Guyana – A Lost World: A wonderful 13-day holiday that takes in all the key wildlife and scenic destinations in little-explored Guyana, a country blessed with swathes of pristine rainforest, wetland savannahs and table-top mountains, as well as a commendable eco-tourism model. This itinerary is perfect for the more adventurous traveller.

Asia

India – Pilgrims, Temples and Tigers: A diverse 13-day holiday that soaks up India’s best cultural sites, including the incredible sacred city of Varanasi, as well as three of the nation’s finest national parks – Satpura, one of Naturetrek’s favourites, among them. Naturally, Tigers are at the top of the travel agenda, but so are the magnificent temples.

Burma’s Birds & Culture: An unforgettable 14-day itinerary uncovering the rich cultural heritage and colourful avifauna of a once isolated and forgotten nation. Burma has some of the most exciting birding in Asia, and Naturetrek is one of very few travel companies in the world to have successfully combined birdwatching with intriguing excursions to golden pagodas, ancient ruins, local markets and beautiful lakes.

The best guides

Over the past 28 years, Naturetrek has located the best naturalist guides in each and every one of its destinations. It believes a highly-experienced guide really does make all the difference to a wildlife holiday and has personally trained or guided all of its wildlife experts. In selected destinations, it is possible to arrange a private guide throughout a trip on a tailormade itinerary. Otherwise, fully-qualified naturalists accompany clients locally.

Sample itineraries include flights, handpicked accommodation, transport (on the tour) and expert guiding. To request a copy of the new Tailormade brochure, or for further information, call the experts at Naturetrek on 01962 733051 or visit www.naturetrek.co.uk.
