Newest Robin Pope Safaris camp opens in Zimbabwe

The latest addition to the Robin Pope Safaris family has just opened. This is the operator’s first venture in Zimbabwe – an exciting development given RPS’ long-standing shining star status in Zambia and Malawi.

John’s Camp – named after renowned African safari guide, John Stevens – is a new camp situated within the remote Mana Pools National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site on Zimbabwe’s northern border with Zambia. One of the most beautiful game reserves in Africa, it offers some of the most outstanding wild walking in Zimbabwe.

John’s Camp is now part of the RPS stable, promising the same charm and five-star experience enjoyed in each of RPS’ other camps. John’s Camp is semi-permanent, with five comfortable, spacious tents (each with an open-air, en suite bathroom), all with stunning views across a flood plain towards the Zambezi River. The concept is simple but the experience is intimate, offering guests exceptional service, great game viewing and top-notch guides.

The venerable John Stevens joined Zimbabwe National Parks over 50 years ago, in 1966, and has worked in and around Mana Pools ever since. John will be available to guide on request, for the ultimate in guiding know-how.
