European City Breaks Press Event comes to the UK

Dutch travel PR agency Baltus Communications introduces its successful European City Breaks Press Event to London in 2017 – on Tuesday 19 September
Participating cities from throughout Europe, airlines and rail companies, hotel chains, city guide publishing houses and other city break related organisations (including operators) and products will be able to promote themselves to UK-based travel media, bloggers, instagrammers and other influencers. The media workshop is an initiative of Baltus Communications, which has organised this event for the past five years in Amsterdam. Says Marcel Baltus: “The event has proved to be very successful. Bringing together all the segments of a city trip in one room on one day with one specific theme is extremely useful, efficient and practical for the media.”
The new London-based European City Breaks Press Event will take place on Tuesday, 19 September 2017 at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in Kensington (the Amsterdam event will be held earlier in the year, on Tuesday 4 April 2017). For further information, contact info@baltuscom.nl or the dedicated landing page on www.baltuscom.nl.
Baltus has joined forces with UK-based PR agency Travel PR for the London event. Says MD Sue Ockwell: “We’re delighted to work with Baltus Communications to launch this new City Breaks Press Event in the UK. City breaks continue to grow in popularity and this event recognises the efficiencies achieved by bringing all interested parties together; the aim is for it to be both very focused and enjoyable.”
Says Baltus: “The underlying reason for the success of this event is pretty straightforward. It has become impossible for travel media to visit each and every travel and tourism workshop organised in our respective countries. Rather than each city trying to promote itself via its own workshop, media by far prefer the opportunity to access a wealth of news on many cities in one afternoon.”
Important market: Figures released by ABTA indicate that city breaks constitute the largest segment of all types of holiday for UK travellers, maintaining their leading position as the UK’s favourite holiday, with 53% having taken one in the 12 months prior to August 2016. In the Netherlands, too, this is a major travel segment, with a total of 3.1M city trips taken annually.
