UK self-catering specialist offers autumn holiday temptation, including
six new additions to its popular Joules Collection

An autumn staycation has everything going for it. Arguably the prettiest season in terms of colour and daily-changing scenes – making walks and bike rides more uplifting and interesting than ever – it holds great appeal for those who prefer a quieter, uncrowded escape. You (and your canine companions) stand a far better chance of finding beaches and rural footpaths all to yourselves at this time of year, the weather is still agreeable for an array of activities, and there’s the added cosiness of starting to need an extra layer when you venture outdoors… whilst delicious autumn food awaits when you return indoors.

This year, more than ever, it’s important to book now to secure your first choice property for an autumn getaway. UK self-catering specialist holidaycottages.co.uk has seen a huge spike in bookings from mid-September onwards, as the current staycation trend continues.  Says Matt Brayley, Marketing Director at holidaycottages.co.uk: “Following a record-breaking spring and summer season, demand for UK self-catering holidays shows little sign of letting up as we approach the cooler months. We’ve already seen an increase of 139% in bookings for September, October and November – more than double where things stood this time two years ago. This surge is across all sizes and type of property, with larger houses proving particularly popular as customers arrange long-awaited reunions with family and friends; we expect to see this continue. Many of our top properties are already beginning to get snapped up for autumn and we urge anyone with their heart set on a particular location to consider booking somewhere as soon as possible, to avoid disappointment.”

And there has never been a better time to book with holidaycottages.co.uk, which has over 7,000 properties to choose from across the UK. The self-catering specialist has just introduced a Customer Benefit Hub, offering a range of exclusive benefits from carefully selected partners that include holiday essentials and indulgences such as meal boxes, children’s clothing, breakdown cover… and gin.

With a portfolio of properties ranging from cosy cottages sleeping two or four to stylish modern pads, magnificent stately homes and castles accommodating many more, holidaycottages.co.uk has the perfect autumn break escape for everyone… and their dog/s. Amongst the gorgeous options available are these new additions to its Joules Collection, created in partnership with the popular British lifestyle brand:

COTSWOLDS
Bitty Cottage (sleeps four) – an impossibly cute stone cottage, close to Minchinhampton’s vibrant village square – is decorated in gentle colours and with a contemporary twist. Joules’ inimitable signature style shines throughout the property, and is particularly evident in its soft furnishings and accessories. The open-plan lounge/diner features exposed beams and an original stone fireplace fitted with a wood-burner, while the raised enclosed garden has a table and chairs and is just the spot for an al fresco afternoon tea or early evening aperitif. Cotswold towns, including Cirencester and Bath, beg to be explored, as do nearby National Trust properties and gardens.
A three-night stay costs from £133 pp (£529 total). Pic below:

WEST WALES
Alltmaen Farmhouse (sleeps seven, plus two dogs) is a stylish former farmhouse overlooking gently rolling countryside, close to West Wales’ magnificent coastline, with glorious beaches – dolphin and seal spotting trips can be booked. Sure to be a hit with all ages, there is a well-equipped games room, complete with pool table and Ps4 console, for children; a sumptuous king-size bedroom, its Joules bed adorned with the brand’s signature soft bedding for parents; and a wood-burner and Smart TV/DVD for all the family (including the dogs, of course) to gather around for a favourite movie – plus a hot tub. Nearby New Quay has a lovely harbour and a fine selection of restaurants, shops and cafés.
A three-night stay costs from £123 pp (£860 total). £20 supplement per dog. Pic below:

HEREFORDSHIRE
Penydre Farm Cottage (sleeps four) is a beautifully restored barn in the village of Longtown, at the foot of the Black Mountains National Park, that offers fabulous walking from its doorstep. The contrast between the craggy landscape and the cottage’s modish interior is unusual and appealing, and Joules’ signature style peppered throughout the property is the icing on the cake. A glass corridor leads into an open-plan living area where you can relax, cook and dine. At night, the black but starry skies (some of the best in the UK) are best admired from the private hot tub. Walk into the village to explore the 12th century Norman castle and to shop at the family-run, award-winning village store.
A three-night stay costs from £214 pp (£853 total). Pic below:

ISLE OF WIGHT
Middle Barn – East Cowes (sleeps five) is somewhere very special for a family getaway, with plenty to keep everyone entertained. Steeped in history, this impressive barn conversion retains some of its finest period features -including the oak beams of the vaulted ceiling in the mezzanine. The Joules touch runs throughout the property, and is evident in the comfy armchair, scatter cushions, dinnerware and accessories. Approached via a private drive, there is a gated courtyard at the front of the house and a spectacular, extensive garden at the back, where guests can enjoy outdoor meals on the decked terrace and a view towards the River Medina. Queen Victoria’s holiday home, Osborne House, is close by, as are many beautiful beaches.
A three-night stay costs from £146 pp (£730 total). Pic below:

WORCESTERSHIRE
Vivianna (sleeps four), a striking luxury treehouse built around a mature ash tree near Tenbury Wells, looks exquisite dressed in Joules’ signature style. The handcrafted kitchen is well-equipped, with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and wine chiller. After a day of activity, retire to the super king-sized bed with handcrafted headboard and views of the wildlife lake, while the second, king-sized bed, can be made up as a twin on request. Step out onto the balcony to enjoy the views, fresh air and, hopefully, sunshine; the balcony surrounds the treehouse and offers access to the lakeside private hot tub and BBQ area.
A three-night stay costs from £214 pp (£855 total). Pic below:

NORTHUMBERLAND
The Seabreeze (sleeps six), close to the pretty village of Bamburgh, is a brand-new and very luxurious reverse-level house. Handpicked to become one of holidaycottages.co.uk’s latest Joules Collection properties (cosy blankets and colourful dinnerware are just the start), this unusual property is located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has views over the Northumberland Heritage Coastline. The first floor open-plan living area opens via full-length bi-fold doors on to a spacious balcony with seating area. Take a boat trip to the Farne Islands, where you’ll likely spot puffins, seals and amazing bird life, or head to the Holy island of Lindisfarne, which can be accessed via its tidal causeway.
A three-night stay costs from £141 pp (£842 total). Pic below:
