Discover Southern Africa’s ‘Emerald Season’ with Robin Pope Safaris

Green and blue are this year’s Christmas colours

Which Christmas colours would you prefer? The green and red route: your run-of-the-mill UK Christmas featuring foul weather, family arguments, fattening food and a feeling of inertia…

Or the green and blue route: an extraordinary Southern Africa experience at its least touristy, at the most affordable and most colourful time of year – the ‘emerald season’. Baby game is being born, a watery world opens up for exploration by boat, rare migratory birds arrive in their thousands, and an authentic safari experience awaits.

Africa

Renowned for its world-class camps and lodges, and for its outstanding safari guides,  Robin Pope Safaris invites you to experience Zambia or Malawi – or a combination of the two – this Christmas.

For example, the eight-night Safari and Beach Trip spends four nights in Zambia’s dramatic Luangwa Valley, one of the last unspoiled wilderness areas and possibly the finest wildlife sanctuary in Africa, where guests stay at the wonderfully understated and elegant Nkwali Camp. Then enjoy four nights at Lake Malawi – considered to be Africa’s most beautiful lake – staying at Pumulani, a lodge consisting of just ten villas. Days can be spent by the infinity pool or by the beach pool, relaxing on a private deck, or taking a slow cruise aboard a traditional dhow.

Africa

The trip costs from £3,950 pp (based on two sharing), including full-board accommodation, most drinks, safari activities, laundry and transfers in Africa. Flights not included.
