Wendy will lead the DDA’s core marketing team, focusing on innovative branding campaigns, collaborative trade partnerships and data-driven initiatives across key markets. Her role will aim to maximise Dominica’s unique market appeal, whilst streamlining international and regional promotional strategies.

The appointment comes at an important time for Dominica, as demand for authentic nature, wellness and adventure tourism experiences continues to flourish.

Marva Williams, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Tourism, Discover Dominica Authority, says, “This appointment brings valuable marketing leadership to our team as we continue to sharpen Dominica’s competitive edge. Wendy’s deep industry insight and collaborative approach will be instrumental in building impactful partnerships, enhancing our brand presence and positioning the destination effectively in a dynamic global market.”

Destination Marketing Manager, Wendy Lake, says: “I am truly honoured to begin this new role with Discover Dominica Authority and look forward to contributing to the promotion and marketing of Dominica, showcasing its rich culture, breathtaking natural beauty, authentic experiences and warm people to the world. I am grateful for this opportunity and excited to work alongside the team and stakeholders to strengthen the destination’s visibility, foster meaningful partnerships and support the continued growth of tourism in Dominica.”

Located in the Windward islands, between Guadeloupe and Antigua to the north, and Martinique and St Lucia to the south, Dominica (pronounced Dom-in-eek-ah) is known as the nature island of the Caribbean. The friendly, safe, English-speaking Commonwealth country offers a multitude of adventures and unique cultural experiences.

In autumn 2026, visitors will be able to experience one of Dominica’s most dramatic landscapes from an entirely new perspective. A state-of-the-art cable car system – the longest detachable cable car in the world at 6.6 km - is set to glide over the rainforest canopy from the Roseau Valley to the volcanic heartland near Boiling Lake.
