CV Villas introduces Sri Lanka to its luxury villa collection
Known for its exceptional collection of holiday villas in beautiful settings across Europe – particularly the Greek islands, Italian countryside and French Riviera, as well as the Caribbean, Morocco and USA – luxury holiday home specialist CV Villas has now added the idyllic island of Sri Lanka to its list of inspiring destinations.
At just over a quarter of the size of the UK, Sri Lanka packs a powerful punch – from the splendour of elephants roaming wild across National Parks and tiers of lush green tea plantations, to blissful sandy beaches with rolling surf and fascinating ancient ruins and temples.
With 15 villas currently in the collection, and more in the pipeline, these outstanding properties across the south and southwest coasts boast features such as private boats and jetties, poolside yoga shalas, surf break access, paddy field views, roof terraces and tennis courts. All offer a daily cook service included in the price (ingredients extra), as well as airport transfers. Several have been designed by notable architects.
Sri Lanka is less of a ‘fly and flop’ destination than CV Villas’ other destinations. The vision is that guests will wish to incorporate an element of cultural touring, either before their villa stay or as a day’s sightseeing excursion from their villa. To cater for this, CV Villas has put together a range of itineraries which can be booked as a comprehensive package with flights, transfers, accommodation, excursions and in-villa cook service. A sample 15-day itinerary features the Cultural Triangle of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Dambulla, with their temples and caves, other religious sites and abundance of wildlife; the UNESCO-listed Sigirya Rock Fortress complex; the tea plantation region of Nuwara Eliya; Yala National Park and much more, and costs from £3,270 pp.
Each of the villas in the collection is stunning, but here are just a few stand-out examples:
Cinnamon House
This wow-factor villa on the south coast, designed by famous Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa, features a multi-terraced living space, direct sea access, a beautiful pool surrounded by landscaped gardens, and five stunning en-suite bedrooms, three of which have private tropical outdoor showers.
From £9,408 per week. Sleeps 11. Includes daily maid and cook service and airport transfers. Flights extra.
Elephant House
A tranquil hideaway with atmospheric views, Elephant House overlooks the vibrant rice paddy fields of Galle, and boasts a sumptuously inviting swimming pool, elegant décor with antique touches and a poolside yoga shala.

Allamanda
A truly special secluded jungle retreat set in 20 acres – with incredible views over the Sri Lankan countryside – Allamanda consists of three unique buildings centred around the original plantation house (which was built in 1820). Featuring a stunning 19-metre pool, plus an impressive dining pavilion seating 20 guests (excellent for yoga retreats), its contemporary design was created by notable Australian architect Kerry Hill. Just 7.5 km away is UNESCO listed Galle Fort, and the stunning white sand beaches of the south coast are but a short drive away.
From £6,442 for a week’s stay. Sleeps 10 (five bedrooms). Includes daily maid and cook service and airport transfers. Flights extra.

Sitting at the top of an extensive tropical garden with panoramic ocean views and private access to a golden sand beach, Moonstone is a very special house. The fully-serviced villa boasts stylish and fun décor featuring local materials and handicrafts, a kidney-shaped pool with children’s slide, Jacuzzi, a cinema room and kids’ snug, and a peaceful yoga shala looking out to sea. The fantastic chef prepares delicious meals and can also provide onsite cooking lessons for guests, and a team of seven staff ensures seamless service.

CV Villas will provide updates to clients on specific local regulations in public places. Strict regulations will apply to all car, transfer and boat providers; villa representatives will be available via Zoom; socially distanced meet and greets / key handovers will be operational, and grocery and meal deliveries will be available in certain destinations.
