Villa Bianca Ponente and Levante, Ragusa, eastern Sicily
L-R: Villa Ponente; Villa Levante
Open all year round, these two identical villas – each with three bedrooms and three en-suite bathrooms – can be rented separately, or as two villas combined to sleep up to 12 people, making them a great option for larger groups. The villas are positioned on a hill and overlook the enchanting Donnafugata castle and the sprawling Sicilian countryside, with a glimpse of the Mediterranean Sea in the distance. Internally, the bright and stylish bedrooms and sizable living room spaces offer amazing vistas, while outside there is a private pool gazebo, BBQ area and orchards with aromatic plants. Nearby, explore the Baroque towns in this corner of the island (namely Ragusa Ibla, Noto, Syracuse, Scicli, Ispica and Palazzolo), the sandy beaches of Punta Secca, and the fascinating fishing village of Marzamemi with its Tonnara – one of the oldest and most important tuna factories.
A seven-night self-catering stay costs from £950 pp (six sharing), including return flights (Gatwick), car hire, welcome pack and free WiFi.
Villa Taormina Bellevue, Taormina, eastern Sicily
This modern, spacious villa (four double bedrooms, sleeps eight) is set on three floors and located just 4km from the bustling centre of delightful Taormina, with its sea views (and, in the distance, Mount Etna) and a great choice of restaurants, bars and shops, plus the beach resort of Taormina Mare. Guests can relax on the covered veranda, take in the pristine gardens and enjoy views of the hills. There’s also an immaculate pool with a hydromassage corner for a spa-like experience. With sizeable living areas, larger groups can enjoy plenty of independence, and the lower floor features a self-contained apartment made up of a double bedroom, bathroom, living area and kitchenette, plus a private garden. From here you can explore Sicily’s fascinating eastern coastline, from small fishing villages, hilltop towns and rural landscapes to active volcanoes (Mount Etna), vineyards and historical monuments.
Open April – October, a seven-night self-catering stay costs from £1,152 pp (eight sharing), including return flights (Gatwick), car hire, welcome pack and free WiFi.
Villa Casale dell Ulivo, Syracuse, eastern Sicily
This elegant and luxurious villa (five bedrooms, sleeps eight) features an expansive garden, large covered patio, private swimming pool, manicured lawns and tall trees to provide the perfect Mediterranean getaway. A short distance from the towns of Ragusa Ibla, Noto, Syracuse, Scicli, Ispica and Palazzolo, you’ll find all things Baroque here. Discover the ceramic shops in Caltagirone and watch the artists at work in their studios; enjoy the golden sandy beaches of Pozzallo (Pietre Nere and Raganzino), go windsurfing or kitesurfing in Marina di Ragusa – and, for golf and tennis enthusiasts, there are facilities close by.

Villa Nature’s Embrace, San Vito Lo Capo, western Sicily
Set close to Monte Cofano – one of the most beautiful maritime reserves on the island – this is an ideal spot for nature lovers, with hiking trails and cycling routes, a nature reserve which attracts several species of birds, plus several caves with evidence of prehistoric settlements. For fans of the seaside, there is a small beach just 600m away, or the beautiful golden sand beaches of San Vito Lo Capo are a 25-minute drive. The villa (three bedrooms, sleeps eight) is the perfect hideaway and features breathtaking views of the mountains and the sea. Within the well-maintained garden is a private pool with solarium furnished with sun loungers and parasol, and an outdoor dining area.
A seven-night self-catering stay costs from £890 pp (six sharing), including return flights (Gatwick), car hire, welcome pack and free WiFi.
Villa Selinunte Garden, Selinunte, western Sicily
This traditional country house (four bedrooms, sleeps eight) is located in the rural province of Trapani, near to the Mediterranean Sea and to many historical and cultural sites, including the five Greek temples at Agrigento – some of the best-preserved temples in Europe. A 40-minute drive takes you to Marsala, known for its ancient ruins and fortified Marsala wine, and Stagnone Nature Reserve, with its salt pans and migratory birdlife. Visit the bustling harbour town of Trapani and book a boat tour to the Egadi Islands to discover Favignana and Levanzo; scale a mountain to reach the medieval hilltop town of Erice – either by cable car, or drive up the winding mountain road. The villa features a pool, patio and barbecue area where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the rural landscape and, indoors, a large living room with views overlooking the olive groves.

I have worked with Travel PR for almost 20 years - during which time they have helped to facilitate access to a wide range of clients, tourist boards, destinations and tour operators. While the contours of travel have inevitably changed during that time, Travel PR have been a constant. I have always found them to be professional, helpful, and easy to deal with.
