Ashdown Park Unveils New Forest Brasserie

Our Stories
Forest Brasserie restaurant

Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club, in Forest Row, East Sussex, is delighted to introduce its new Forest Brasserie - a casual dining experience, overlooking the beautiful countryside and the hotel’s private golf course - which pairs beautifully with the hotel’s acclaimed Anderida Restaurant in the main house.

Set in the stunning surroundings of Ashdown Forest, spread across 186 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens, with many specimen trees, the Forest Brasserie – located in the hotel’s Country Club, near to the property’s superb spa and swimming pool – is designed for families and friends looking for a more relaxed dining experience.Thoughtfully appointed, the Brasserie’s interior design has cleverly drawn upon the historic surrounds of Ashdown Forest, by working subtly to weave in some of the area’s history.  AA Milne, renowned creator/author of the Winne the Pooh books, was once a frequent visitor to Ashdown Forest; his work has provided the area with a strong historical legacy.  Besides this famous link, the Brasserie’s interiors reflect the Sussex surrounds, with warm country tones complementing carefully-sourced soft furnishings and artwork, conveying a relaxed and tranquil, yet distinguished, countryside ambience.

Forest Brasserie food

Working hand-in-hand with key local suppliers, Tony Sanders, Executive Chef, recognises the importance of championing the fabulous local food and wine that is available in Sussex and Kent, enabling the Brasserie to reduce its carbon footprint and involve more local suppliers within the Ashdown Park family. The intention is to create an epicurean calendar across the year, incorporating the area’s fresh produce across a series of creative promotions, masterclasses, talks and tastings for the local community as well as for guests.

We’re delighted now to be able officially to launch the Forest Brasserie. While it originally opened on a low-key basis during the turbulent Covid period, an unsettling time for one and all, we are delighted now to officially launch the Brasserie to the full fanfare that it deserves! We’re delighted that our casual dining concept has been so well received, evidenced by the feedback and positive reviews we’ve received from our guests. Ben Booker, General Manager, Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club

Opening daily from 10 am, the Forest Brasserie is the ideal place for a relaxed breakfast with friends and family, a weekly catch-up over coffee and pastries, or a well-earned lunch or supper with business colleagues or work pals, perhaps after a swim in the Health Club or a spoiling spa treatment.  Not only does the Forest Brasserie provide creative and highly seasonal menus, but a variety of innovative vegetarian and vegan options are also available, providing local guests – alongside visitors from further afield – with a much-needed and refreshingly laid-back setting at which to relax with friends, colleagues and family.
