AITO Meets the Media 2018

Our Stories

AITO (www.aito.com), under its newly-unveiled strapline, The Specialist Travel Association, held its annual Meets the Media event in central London on Tuesday 16 October. It was wonderful to see so many journalists in attendance, talking with numerous specialist travel companies and tourist boards who were promoting their hot tips for 2019, travel trends and new destinations from around the world.

The calibre of journalists at AITO Meets the Media was particularly impressive this year, including travel editors from The Times, The Telegraph, The Independent, The Sunday Times Travel magazine, National Geographic Traveller, Vanity Fair, Wanderlust, Press Association and Good Housekeeping, as well as some of the best freelance journalists and travel bloggers in the industry.

AITO also announced the results of its 22nd Travel Writer of the Year awards, with an all-female cast of First Prize winners; see the results here.

Thank you to all who attended, and for the excellent feedback – from journalists and travel specialists alike – who have said how useful they found the event.
