Yoga in the forest: Daisybank, in the New Forest, launches new Ayurvedic Yoga Weekends |
, a boutique B&B in the New Forest village of Brockenhurst, has partnered with expert Ayurvedic Nutritionist Tina Toft of Yogi Health
to offer Ayurvedic Yoga Weekends which combine yoga, mindfulness and Ayurvedic (spice-led) nutrition.
Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems. The traditional Eastern philosophy is based on the balance of bodily systems and employs diet, herbal treatment and yogic breathing.
Daisybank’s new Ayurvedic Yoga Weekends promote the balance of yoga for exercise and mindfulness with the dietary and health benefits of eating the Ayurvedic way. Toft is a trained Ayurvedic nutritionist and her yoga classes are renowned for their deeply meditative and cleansing qualities.
The weekend includes tips on how to improve digestion and what to choose from the breakfast menu, sleep time infusions, a yoga session on the Saturday morning and a mindfulness walk in the stunning scenery of the New Forest. The Ayurvedic evening meal on Saturday includes a cookery demonstration which guests can participate in before enjoying the meal together, followed by a talk offering a personalised, practical guide to self-help choices for a long and happy life.
When combined with Ayurvedic cookery and spice-led menus for gut health, the experience is altogether restorative and is one of balance. From sweet digestive spices on eggs for breakfast to savoury digestive spice in dals and palyas, Toft’s tips and tricks provide the perfect introduction to the world of Ayurveda. Particularly important are two cleansing spice blends: The Liver Cleanse and The Super Green Smoothie.
The two-night Ayurvedic Yoga Weekend (16-18 March) costs from £195 pp (two sharing), including overnight accommodation at Daisybank, breakfast each morning, a yoga session, a mindfulness walk in the forest and an Ayurvediccooking demonstration with participation.
Further Ayurvedic Yoga Weekends dates to be announced.
Local area: The New Forest

The forest offers a glorious blend of open heath lands, ancient woodlands and beautiful coastline that can be explored directly from Daisybank on foot or by bike. Local maps, hints, tips and information on the surrounding area are provided by Cheryl and Ciaran, Daisybank’s owners.
Daisybank is situated a ten-minute stroll from the charming village of Brockenhurst, home to a train station (1.5 hours to London Waterloo) and a plethora of cafés and restaurants. The ancient seaport of Lymington, with its rich maritime history, yacht-filled marina and open-air sea-water baths, is 15 minutes by car, as are Beaulieu’s Palace House, Abbey, National Motor Museum (home to the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Del Boy’s three-wheeler and Harry Potter’s Flying Ford Anglia) and the spectacular 200-acre Exbury Gardens.
