Bringing fresh drama to our TV screens this week, ITV’s ‘Flesh and Blood’ (catch up here) charts the lives of three adult siblings as their lives are thrown into disarray, following years of secrets, lies, rivalries and betrayals. Featuring a stellar cast of actors that includes Imelda Staunton, Stephen Rea and Francesca Annis, the mini-series also looks set to shine the spotlight on the setting in which it was filmed, Pevensey Bay.
Dating back to the 1600s, this pretty former fishing village on the East Sussex coast holds huge appeal for visitors of all ages. As well as its year-round beach attractions, Pevensey Bay is also the perfect location from which to visit the seaside towns of Eastbourne and Bexhill-on-Sea (home to the striking De La Warr Pavilion contemporary arts centre), plus local attractions such as Drusillas Park (one of the country’s best small zoos, offering plenty to see and do for the whole family) and Pevensey Castle, now a striking English Heritage site.
Step into the setting (though hopefully not the drama!) of Flesh and Blood during a stay in Pevensey Bay with holidaycottages.co.uk which offers an array of properties in the area – several of which are currently offering savings in February, March and April – that includes:
