Now officially open for the 2017/18 season, the family-friendly resort of La Plagne announces exciting new restaurant offerings and stylish hotel openings to tempt visitors to the French Alps this winter.

Newly-renovated four-star hotel: Araucaria Hotel & Spa****

The group behind the popular and quirky RockyPop Hotel in Chamonix launches the Araucaria Hotel & Spa in Plagne Centre this winter. Opened on 16 December, the hotel has been completely updated with a new state-of-the-art 1,000 m² extension and stylish facilities including a cocktail bar, cosy mountain nook and auditorium. The new 450 m² Nuxe Spa will provide respite after an energetic day on the slopes, with serene treatment rooms, sauna, tepidarium and swimming pool, as well as a fun children’s pool area. With refined, ‘sport-chic’ interiors and a relaxing atmosphere, the Araucaria Hotel & Spa will be the most stylish place to unwind in the French Alps this winter.

Union: a new restaurant from UK Michelin-starred chef, Phil Howard

World-renowned UK chef, Phil Howard, opens his new restaurant, Union, in Plagne Montalbert this winter. With a focus on rigorously seasonal ingredients, the menu will feature entirely new dishes which suit the contemporary Alpine setting – not a tartiflette or fondue in sight. The restaurant opened on 16 December with a team of chefs from London, in an open-kitchen format, and will serve dinner seven days a week.

Breathtaking panoramic views: Le 360 Restaurant

This contemporary new restaurant, which opened on 16 December, features wall-to-wall glass windows offering 360 degree views of the Plateau du Fornelet in Plagne-Montalbert. The menu is based around quality local produce, featuring hearty dishes such as fresh pasta, grilled meats and warming soups, all at affordable prices. Situated at 1970 m, the restaurant is also accessible via the Montalbert gondola, offering skiers and non-skiers alike the chance to escape the cold for a gourmet break in a spectacular setting. Ski passes for La Plagne are priced at €52 pp for one day or €265 pp for six days. Paradiski passes, including Les Arcs, are priced at €60 pp for one day or €299 pp for six days. One week’s self-catering in Plagne Centre currently costs from €66 pp / £61 pp, based on four sharing a studio apartment in January 2018. Flights (London-Geneva) currently cost from £35 pp one-way or £70 pp return with easyJet.
