NEW: Champagne dinner for £99 pp in the Alexandra’s private chapel
The Alexandra Hotel in Lyme Regis is hosting its first ever gourmet Champagne dinner in its painstakingly-restored Georgian chapel on Wednesday 29 November. Talented Head Chef Tom Holloway has created a mouthwatering menu which includes a rusty pig charcuterie platter, home-cured salmon gravadlax, green-tea sorbet, butter-roasted venison, milk chocolate & salted caramel tartlet with honeycomb ice cream and a selection of West Country cheeses. The five-course gourmet Champagne dinner is just £99 pp, including a glass of Champagne on arrival and a carefully-matched Champagne pairing with each course. Why not stay overnight? A special package is available from £174 pp (two sharing), including full English breakfast and the Champagne dinner.
Festive lunches from £25.95 pp in the elegant restaurant
From 1 December, gather family and friends for a festive lunch in the elegant restaurant. Delicious dishes include roasted winter squash, home cured festive spiced salmon gravadlax, braised West Country ox cheek and roasted Devonshire bronze turkey. A two-course lunch is just £25.95 pp and a three-course lunch £29.95 pp.
Treat yourself: Indulgent three-night Christmas break from £698 pp
A warm welcome awaits guests at the Alexandra on Christmas Eve, with a festive afternoon tea served on arrival. In the evening, enjoy Champagne and canapés before a delectable four-course dinner. Carols, poems and prose will follow, along with handmade mince pies and mulled wine, in the hotel’s candle-lit Georgian chapel. On Christmas morning, enjoy a breakfast of smoked salmon, scrambled egg and Bucks Fizz in bed. Play board games by the fire, stroll along the coast or join the town’s annual Christmas morning swim in the sea before sitting down to a traditional five-course Christmas lunch.
