About Travel PR

Travel PR is different

Travel PR was established in 1997 by Sue Ockwell, previously Chief Executive of the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) for nine years.

From eight clients on day one – many of which are still with us – the company now has over 30 clients, including UK and overseas tour operators, tourist boards and travel trade organisations (including AITO and AITO Specialist Travel Agents).

About Travel PR

How we achieve excellence

Travel PR has an excellent knowledge of the key travel-oriented media and well-established relationships with key travel editors and freelancers who work in the UK media.

Many of the travel media are personal friends. Such personal links are an important part of our armoury in helping our clients to gain above-average results in the media.

Travel PR prides itself on its strong creative ability to work from raw information to generate media interest. Our crisis management expertise is based on practical experience, not just theory, and has been proved to work.

Attention to detail in all aspects of PR means that journalists trust us to get them what they want and clients are confident that their messages are clearly delivered.

    Thank you.

  • “Travel PR seems to have an innate understanding of what makes AITO tick and a sense of what beats at the heart of AITO. This leads to swift, in depth, intuitive cover from Travel PR staff whenever an AITO issue needs attention. It is the longevity of association between Travel PR, Sue Ockwell in person and AITO, together with Sue and her team’s unique inside knowledge, that makes for such a rich relationship between us.”

    Deputy Chairman, AITO

  • "The minute we started working with Travel PR to launch a domestic PR campaign promoting England’s Coast to UK travellers, the team hit the ground running and delivered. In addition to creating innovative campaign concepts that grab media attention, they understand the complexities of handling multiple strategic partnerships which, for England’s Coast entails more than 35 DMOs across the coast of England, private sector partners, government departments and other umbrella organisations.

Furthermore, the team has proved to be expert in crisis management, adapting and flexing activity on a daily basis to combat the challenges of the current pandemic in relation to travel. Their imaginative campaign concepts, excellent media contacts, thorough research and ability to deliver at speed places them ahead of their peers."
