Having started in the wine trade, Russell Wheldon somehow graduated to the travel industry where he has over 25 years’ experience in tour operating and marketing communications. He enjoys discovering new destinations as well as the challenge of reaching new audiences and getting a message ‘out there’ in a targeted, creative way.
Married with two daughters, he realised a while ago that his chances of an England rugby call up were slim, so downtime these days includes sports (tennis, golf, sailing), music, gardening, cooking and walking, usually involving a muddy dog.
Favourite spot in the world so far?
Tough choice. New Zealand’s Abel Tasman National Park for its stunning tropical beaches and aquamarine waters. Or California, especially laid-back Monterey with wild and rugged coastline.
