I have recently crossed over into PR from the ‘other side’ – journalism. Before starting at Travel PR, I was deputy editor and then editor on two leading genealogy magazines. While I loved the historical side of it (I studied History at Leeds University), I was itching to get out and about a bit more – meeting new people and visiting new places – so this job ticked every box.
I am lucky enough to have a father who is a travel journalist, so a
number of magical childhood holidays cemented in me a deep love of exploring new countries and cultures. I have lived and studied both in France and Italy, picking up some of the local lingo as I went. Looking further afield, I have also been to places including Mexico, Cape Verde, Jamaica and the US.
I am a real foodie, and nowadays many holiday choices are dictated by my stomach. Malaysia and Argentina are next on my list so I can sample some authentic rendang and get stuck into a world-famous steak.
