Client: Great Little Breaks
Brief: To gain mass publicity for the launch of Great Little Breaks, a new UK short-break specialist.
Delivery: Travel PR decided on a ‘Great Little Launch’: a champagne event for publishers, journalists and bloggers, to introduce Great Little Breaks’ unique selling points as an online company offering themed UK short break packages with outstanding and often exclusive added-value. This would alert as many key writers as possible to the company’s arrival. Travel PR opted to hold the event across the afternoon and evening to maximise attendance of journalists. National and regional press invite-lists were drafted, with journalists based outside of London invited to experience a ‘Great Little London Break’ in return for a podcast/write-up. Finally, Travel PR prepared press pack materials, sourced goody-bag contents and helped draft a speech for the company’s Founder, Viv Hudson.
Results: The Great Little Launch took place in the Waterloo Suite at the Millennium Mayfair London Hotel. Travel PR aimed for 25 journalists to attend – 28 journalists showed, including Chris Leadbeater, a freelance writer for the Daily Mail and Independent, and Marjorie Yue, travel editor of the Sunday Mirror. Other influential travel industry guests such as Laura Smith, PR Manager for Visit England, and Herbert Ypma from Hip Hotels also attended. Travel PR also organised and paid for four podcast interviews for use by Great Little Breaks. Press coverage about or arranged at the event has appeared in The Times, Travelmail, Travel Weekly, Prima and The Sunday Mirror among other publications.
Client feedback: “We all agree that you and your team went beyond the extra mile and we think you are all BRILLIANT. I am sure we are very troublesome at times but you are always so patient with us and lead us through things very gently with the occasional hard shove when we need it! We’re now looking forward to developing Great Little Breaks with your continued involvement. Thank you, our Great Little PR company: you are the best.” Viv Hudson, Founder of Great Little Breaks
