How are we different?

Travel PR was established in 1997 by Sue Ockwell, previously Chief Executive of the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) for nine years. Today, Sue heads up a team of 12.

From eight clients on day one – many of which are still with us – the company now has over 30 clients, including UK and overseas tour operators, tourist boards and travel trade organisations (including AITO and AITO Specialist Travel Agents).

Testimonials

Arnie Wilson, Editor, Ski+board magazine, freelance travel writer and former Financial Times ski correspondent

“Travel PR are the supreme professionals which is not surprising as the company was founded by Sue Ockwell, who is very much still at the helm. Ockwell has many years of experience at the highest level in the travel industry  and leads her team by example. Behind the smooth and ever-courteous unflappability is a solid work ethic and a genuine understanding of what really makes travel tick.”

Derek Moore, AITO Chairman

“Travel PR seems to have an innate understanding of what makes AITO tick and a sense of what beats at the heart of AITO. This leads to swift, in depth, intuitive cover from Travel PR staff whenever an AITO issue needs attention. It is the longevity of association between Travel PR, Sue Ockwell in person and AITO, together with Sue and her team’s unique inside knowledge, that makes for such a rich relationship between us.”

Freelancer, Will Gray (Author of Travel With Kids; writer for national press and magazines including The Sunday Times)

“Travel PR is always my first point of contact when compiling round-ups, sourcing information for fact boxes or seeking inspiration for features. Not only have they got a diverse range of clients but I’m always amazed how quickly they get back to me. They’re an indispensable ally in the battle against impossible deadlines!”

James Mundy, PR Manager at InsideJapan Tours:

“InsideJapan Tours has been working with Travel PR for a number of years now and we have found their connection with the British press to be invaluable. With Travel PR’s influence, InsideJapan Tours’ public profile has grown considerably with many journalists making our company the first port of call when it comes to any Japan related articles and information. With Travel PR’s help, InsideJapan has found itself regularly appearing in many of the UK’s biggest publications and its popularity amongst the travelling British public has also improved as a result.”
